ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (5-2-6, 3-0-3 CC) displayed a dominant offensive attack in its 3-1 victory on the road at Muhlenberg (1-12-1, 0-5-1 CC) during its Centennial Conference (CC) matchup Friday evening. With the win, the Diplomats extend their unbeaten streak to 10 and remain unbeaten in CC play so far this year.
Sophie Koziol found the back of the net early in the match as the senior notched her second game-winning goal in as many games during the 10th minute of play. Koziol wasn't done yet as she added an insurance goal during the 18th minute for her fourth goal of the season and third goal in two games.
Lillian Williams was credited with her second assist of the year on Koziol's first goal, while Ferrarese registered her third assist of the season on F&M's second goal of the game.
Muhlenberg managed to cut the deficit in half during the 36th minute, but F&M entered the halftime break with a 12-4 shot advantage in the first 45 minutes of play. The Diplomats' continuous attack proved to be successful as
Dahlia Pepe tallied her team-leading sixth goal of the season during the 57th minute to put F&M ahead, 3-1. Meanwhile,
Julianna Sirico recorded her third assist of the year on the score.
Franklin & Marshall fired 27 shot attempts with 10 on target in the match, while holding the Mules to just six total shot attempts.
Zoe Warne led the game with five shots, while
Kate Boujoukos and Koziol each registered four in the contest.
Molly DeBrandt earned her third win in as many starts in net, making three saves in the victory.
Franklin & Marshall returns to Tylus Field on Wednesday to host Dickinson at 4:30 p.m.
