Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Stifles Ursinus, 1-0

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (4-2-6, 2-0-3 CC) found the back of the net once in the second half to pick up its second Centennial Conference (CC) win of the season in a 1-0 victory over Ursinus (5-4-2, 0-3-1 CC) Tuesday evening at Tylus Field.

The first half of the match saw the Diplomats outshoot the Bears, 9-2, in the first 45 minutes of play. Franklin & Marshall finally broke out in the scoring column in the 54th minute as Kate Boujoukos found Sophie Koziol in front of a wide-open net to give Koziol her second goal of the season. Meanwhile, Boujoukos was credited with her third assist of the year on the play.

The Diplomats had their chances for additional goals in the second half, but none came closer than Boujoukos rocketing a shot off the crossbar five minutes before Koziol's goal.

F&M peppered the Ursinus net with 22 shot attempts and 12 shots on goal in the game. On the other end, the Diplomats limited the Bears to just five total shots and two attempts on net. Zoe Warne led the game with five shot attempts, followed by Lillian Williams tallying four in the contest.

Goalkeeper Molly DeBrandt made just two saves in the game, but the first-year made a brilliant leaping save in the 89th minute to complete the Diplomats' fourth clean sheet of the season.

Franklin & Marshall now hits the road for a conference game at Muhlenberg on Friday, starting at 4:30 p.m.
