LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall cross country juniors Holden Brown and Abby Bachman have been named to their respective Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Teams. The Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Teams are comprised of one individual for each of the competing teams at the conference championships.
Abby Bachman earns this honor for the first time in her career. The chemistry major from Herndon, Virginia is recently coming off of an 85th place finish at the Centennial Conference Championship where she helped her team to a sixth-place finish. Her highest individual placement this past fall came when she finished 14th at the Diplomats' home-opening meet. In addition to her performance in cross country, Bachman will be named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the second time in her cross country career later this semester.
Holden Brown is also receiving this honor for the first time in his F&M career. A junior from Macungie, Pennsylvania, Brown is a double major in biochemistry & molecular biology and chemistry. During his most recent appearance at the Centennial Conference Championships, he finished in 64th place. That came just two weeks after he set a personal-best 6,000 meter time of 27:25.2 at Gettysburg's Aubrey Shenk Invitational. He also placed among the top 10 runners at the Diplomats' first home meet of the fall season and excels in the classroom where he will be named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive cross country season later this semester.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in Lock Haven this coming Saturday, November 16. Bids for both teams and individuals to advance to the NCAA Division III Championships will be on the line as the women's race is set for an 11 a.m. start with the men to follow at 12 p.m. noon.
