No. 24 Women's Squash Beat No. 25 Chatham, Fall to No. 21 Dickinson

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The No. 24 women's squash team (1-2) split its Saturday results with a 5-4 win against No. 25 Chatham (1-2) before falling 8-1 to No. 21 Dickinson (3-1).

The Diplomats earned wins in the No. 5, No. 6, No. 7, No. 8, and No. 9 slots over Chatham, with a default in the No. 9 match proving the difference maker to give F&M its first win of 2024-25. Tatum Long won in the No. 5 match in four games, while Rory Dasher (No. 6), Joey Ho (No. 7), and Lavanya Seshasayee (No. 8) swept their opponents in three games. Destiny Ponce was credited with the No. 9 win after Chatham was unable to field a competitor. Gurlin Kaur came from behind twice in the No. 1 match before falling 11-7 in the fifth game, while Zarine Gidwaney lost in four games in the No. 2 slot.

In the loss to Dickinson, Ashanti Amastal came the closest to beating a Red Devil opponent, taking games two and three before falling in the fifth game 11-9. Three Diplomats pushed their matches to four games including Zarine Gidwaney (No. 2),  Dasher (No. 6), and Ho (No. 7). Ponce again earned a win via default against Dickinson. 

The Diplomats wrap up the weekend with two matches on Sunday. They'll first face No. 27 Haverford at 9:00 a.m. before facing No. 10 Drexel at 1:00 p.m.
