SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Competing in its final dual meet of the season, the Franklin & Marshall Men's Swimming team was downed by Swarthmore 170-91. The Diplomats recorded three first-place finishes and 15 top-three finishes overall.
In back-to-back races,
Sam Kamdin and
Patrick Rooney each claimed individual titles, with the former placing first in the 100-yard backstroke and the latter winning the 100-yard breaststroke. To end the day, the team of Matthew Hurford,
Ben Lockey, Kamdin and
John Devaney finished in first in the 200-yard freestyle relay.Â
Individually, Hurford also recorded second-place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle races. Devaney fell just 0.06 seconds shy of first place in the 50-yard freestyle, coming in second with a time of 21.71. In addition to winning the 100 breast, Rooney notched a second place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, coming 0.07 seconds short of first place.Â
F&M will now close out the regular season by traveling to Swarthmore again on Saturday, February 10 at 10 a.m. for the Swarthmore Invitational.Â
