SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team (9-10, 5-3 CC) fell in the semifinal round of the Centennial Conference Tournament to No. 11 Swarthmore (20-1, 8-0 CC), 5-1, on the road Friday evening.
The Garnet claimed wins in two of the three doubles matches to hold a narrow lead entering singles. From that point, Swarthmore took control with wins in the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 positions to advance to the Centennial Conference Championship.
The Diplomats earned a win in the middle doubles match as the duo of
Luke Brodsky and
Campbell Gervais picked up an 8-6 victory in the tiebreaker. With the win, the pairing improves to 11 wins on the season.
Franklin & Marshall now waits to see if they continue on into the NCAA Tournament as selections release next week. The NCAA Selection Show airs on Monday, May 6 at 12:30 p.m. Individual selections will get announced on Wednesday, May 8 on NCAA.com.
