Men's Soccer and Lynchburg Finishes in 0-0 Draw

WINCHESTER, Va. – The No. 17 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (1-0-1) battled Lynchburg (0-1-1) to a scoreless tie in Sunday afternoon's non-conference matchup. F&M had a total of four shots, but couldn't find the back of the net as the Diplomats only tallied one shot on goal in the contest.

Franklin & Marshall pressed the Lynchburg net early as Jack Baer got a shot off in the 13th minute, but his attempt sailed just over the crossbar. The Diplomats picked up a shot on target one minute later from Adam Green, but his shot was saved by the Lynchburg goalkeeper. F&M outshot the Hornets, 3-1, after 45 minutes of play.

Starting the second half, Jack Borden ripped a shot that missed over the crossbar for a goal kick. The attempt would be F&M's only shot of the second half as Lynchburg racked up seven shots in the final 45 minutes of play.

Nolan Booth kept the opposing team scoreless for the second-consecutive game as the junior goalkeeper recorded three saves.

For F&M, the scoreless outcome marked the first 0-0 draw since its tie against Lancaster Bible on October 12, 2022.

Franklin & Marshall now gets set to host its home opener against Rowan on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
