LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (6-2-4, 2-1-2 CC) and Mary Washington (8-2-3) played all 90 minutes of Saturday's non-conference matchup without a goal, marking the second scoreless tie for the Diplomats this season. A game mainly played in the midfield, both teams recorded just three shots apiece in the contest.
Ellison Errington registered the first two shots of the game with both coming inside the first 20 minutes of play. Errington narrowly missed scoring a potential seventh goal of the season as the sophomore sent an attempt just over the crossbar in the 20th minute. F&M only notched one more shot in the contest as
Amanda Nemeth sent the ball wide of the post in the 39th minute.
Mary Washington generated some chances on offense in the second half as Emily Box fired the first shot on goal of the game during the 51st minute. However,
Lucy Fleming was in perfect position to make the save. The Eagles worked another opportunity with a shot on goal in the 79th minute, but Fleming was there to once again make the save. With her third shutout of the season, Fleming now has nine-career clean sheets.
Franklin & Marshall hits the road to face Gettysburg on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
