Women's Soccer Upends Wilson, 9-0

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (8-3-4, 3-2-2 CC) scored a whopping nine times in its 9-0 victory over Wilson (6-8-3) Wednesday afternoon in the Diplomats' final non-conference game of the season. Wednesday's performance tied for sixth in the program record books for most goals in a single game, with the last nine-goal outing coming in F&M's 9-0 win against Haverford in 1986.

Ellison Errington got the scoring started just 29 seconds into the contest as she headed a pass from Colleen Ferrarese into the back of the net. The goal is the fastest opening goal for the Diplomats since Sierra Brophy '24 scored 38 seconds into the Diplomats' 6-0 win over Marywood in 2021.

The Diplomats continued finding success on offense as Kate Boujoukos scored in the fourth minute, followed by a goal from Emerson McDonald in the ninth minute to give F&M a 3-0 lead. McDonald wasn't finished yet as the first-year scored her eighth goal of the season in the 17th minute of the match for the Diplomats' fourth goal of the game. Amanda Nemeth capped the first-half scoring with a tally in the 43rd minute for her first-career goal.

Franklin & Marshall picked up where it left off to start the second half with Errington burying her eighth goal of the year in the 49th minute. Julianna Sirico followed with her first goal of the season, scoring in the 64th minute to extend the hosts' lead to 7-0. After an own goal from Wilson in the 68th minute, F&M scored its ninth goal of the contest in the 83rd minute as Ashley Inacio recorded her first goal of the fall.

The Diplomats dominated possession in the contest, firing 41 total shots and 11 shots on goal in the win. F&M also held their opponent to zero shot attempts for the first time since the Diplomats' 4-0 win over Bryn Mawr in 2017.

In addition to Errington and McDonald's two-goal performances, Grace Craig and Colleen Ferrarese notched two assists each in the win. McDonald also recorded an assist to lead the Diplomats with five points on the day.

Franklin & Marshall looks to build off the momentum when it hosts Haverford on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the Diplomats' final home game of the regular season.
