LANCASTER, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team went 2-1 in today's Centennial Conference Quad meet, defeating Ursinus, 174-86, and Dickinson, 138-120, but falling to No. 20 Swarthmore, 180-79.
The Diplomats picked up three event wins at the meet including two individual wins from
Patrick Rooney and gold in the 200 freestyle relay, while the team totaled eight top-three finishes.
Rooney earned the event win in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke, while the team of
Sam Kamdin,
Brady Saunders,
Thomas Smolinski,
Ben Lockey earned first place in the 200 freestyle relay.
Kamdin, Rooney,
Riley Williams, and Lockey earned second place in the 200 medley relay.
Kamdin claimed third in the 200 freestyle, while
Matthew Tilghman was third in the 1000 freestyle.
F&M earned third through fifth place in the 50 freestyle, led by Smolinski in third, Lockey in fourth, and Saunders in fifth.
Ethan Ferris' collegiate debut earned him bronze in the 100 butterfly.
Other fifth-place finishes for F&M in the meet include
Nick Lowell in the 200 IM,
Connor Marshall in the 200 freestyle, and Williams in the 100 butterfly.
F&M competes again with a trip to Gettysburg on Friday, October 31, at 5:30 p.m.
