SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 40 Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team (4-7, 0-1 CC) was held off by No. 30 Salisbury (10-2), 6-1, in Sunday afternoon's clash of nationally-ranked opponents. The Diplomats earned wins in the No. 1 doubles match and No. 6 singles match, but couldn't catch Salisbury in the contest.
The Sea Gulls claimed wins in the bottom two doubles match, but F&M avoided the sweep in the No. 1 match. The duo of
Zac Ashtiani and
Gonzalo Gentou fought off their opponents to win the match, 6-2, and improve to six wins together this season.
Soren Rudin-Aulenbach rallied to push past his opponent in three set during the No. 6 singles match. After dropping the first set, 6-0, Rudin Aulenbach won the last two, 6-2, 6-3, for his seventh individual victory of the year.
No. 40 Franklin & Marshall looks to bounce back when it hosts Gettysburg on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
