Squash Well-Represented on All-MASC Teams; 11 Named All-Academic Selections

LANCASTER, Pa. – Following a terrific season from both teams, the Franklin & Marshall men's and women's squash programs had four members recognized on the All-Middle Atlantic Squash Conference (MASC) teams. Additionally, 11 squash student-athletes were recognized on the MASC All-Academic teams.

Kyle Broadhurst was selected First-team All-MASC for the second-consecutive season, earning 11 wins out of the No. 1 slot for the Diplomats. Broadhurst had his biggest win come against No. 11 Williams, taking down their No. 1 in four games. The junior later went on to win two of his three matches at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team National Championships.

Sharan Punjabi was named a Second-team All-MASC selection for the second year in a row after tallying 15 wins, competing primarily in the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. Punjabi had a five-match winning streak in January for his longest winning streak of the season. The sophomore highlighted his year with a win 3-2 win over No. 5 Virginia in the No. 2 slot on February 7.

Marco DiFilippo was tabbed a Second-team all-conference selection for the third-consecutive year, claiming 13 wins in primarily the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. DiFilippo ended his season winning six of his last eight matches, including a sweep over No. 15 Colby's No. 3 player. The senior finished his career with two victories in the CSA Team National Championships.

Gurlin Kaur was named a Second-team All-MASC honoree for the second-consecutive season, earning eight wins in the No. 1 slot. Kaur made a run in the Holleran East Consolation bracket in late-January, picking up a win over her opponent from Amherst. Kaur then finished the season on five-match winning streak, earning a perfect 3-0 record in the CSA Team National Championships.

Both teams were well represented on the MASC All-Academic teams, with the men's team having six selections and the women's team sporting five honorees. The representatives from the men's team include Alexander Arader, Aditya Chandani, Marco DiFilippo, Arjun Jaswal, Noah Katzer and Evann Tan. The honorees from the women's team include Rory Dasher, Zarine Gidwaney, Gurlin Kaur, Destiny Ponce and Lavanya Seshasayee.

Men's Squash finished the season ranked No. 15 with a 15-7 record. Women's Squash concluded the season ranked No. 22 with a 7-13 overall record.
