GENEVA, Ohio - Mackenzie Ward became the first women's All-American javelin performer at Franklin & Marshall with a 13th place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Ward is the first track & field All-American for the women's track & field team since Rebecca Swisher earned back-to-back honors in the pole vault during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Making her NCAA Championship debut, Ward came out strong as her first throw of the day was marked at 38.72 meters to put her in seventh place after the first round. The school record holder in the javelin was called for a foul on her second attempt before a mark of 34.90 meters during her third and final effort.
Before the two-time Centennial Conference Champion in the javelin returns for next season, she will first turn her attention to the basketball courts where the rising junior is a two sport athlete for the Diplomats.
