LANCASTER, Pa. – The (RV) Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (4-1) scored three times in the second half to take down Penn State Harrisburg (3-2-1), 3-1, in Saturday afternoon's non-conference matchup at Tylus Field. Before the game, the F&M women's soccer team honored its six seniors in a pregame Senior Day ceremony. Those seniors included
Kate Boujoukos,
Elizabeth Jones,
Amanda Imhauser,
Julianna Sirico,
Zoe Warne, and
Lillian Williams.
After a scoreless first half, the Diplomats created a strong offensive push to begin the final period. F&M drew a penalty in the Lions' box to set up a penalty kick opportunity in the 57th minute.
Emerson McDonald took the kick and fired it past the visitor's goalkeeper to put the Diplomats ahead, 1-0.
F&M added onto the lead in the 63rd minute as Warne sent a corner kick off the crossbar that was collected and shot into the net by
Ellison Errington for her fourth goal of the year. Warne was credited with her second assist of the season on the play.
The Diplomats weren't done yet as
Katherine Finnerty connected with McDonald in the 64th minute to extend the F&M lead to 3-0. McDonald scored her fourth goal of the season, while Finnerty notched her first assist of the year.
Franklin & Marshall outshot PSU Harrisburg, 15-7, with 10 of the Diplomats' shots being on net. McDonald led F&M with four shots, while Finnerty followed with three in the win. Goalkeeper
