YORK, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (1-4-1) played York (Pa.) (3-1-3) to a 1-1 draw in Wednesday evening's non-conference contest.
Ethan Howard's goal in the 82nd minute allowed the Diplomats to even the score – resulting in F&M's first tie of the 2025 season.
The Diplomats outshot the Spartans, 4-3, in the first 45 minutes of the match. York took the lead in the 74th minute, but F&M responded just eight minutes later.
Nico Gonzalez sent a pass into York's box that was batted away by the YCP goalkeeper. The rebound bounced to Howard, who fired a follow-up shot into the back of the net for his first-career goal. Gonzalez was credited with his second-career assist on the play.
Franklin & Marshall outshot York, 14-11, in the contest with the Diplomats firing seven shot attempts on goal.
Jack Baer led the visitors with four shots, while
Wes Wise followed with three attempts in the game. Goalkeeper
Diego Moreno made five saves in the match with four saves coming in the second half.
Franklin & Marshall gets set to kick off Centennial Conference (CC) play on Saturday, hosting Muhlenberg at 3:00 p.m. at Tylus Field.
