CHESTERTOWN, Md.- The Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team (4-3, 3-2 Centennial Conference) opened a busy weekend with a 110-95 dual meet victory at Washington College (3-6, 2-5 Centennial Conference) on Friday evening. The Diplomats totaled five event wins and 20 top-three results against the Shoremen.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Thomas Smolinski, Riley Williams, Ethan Ferris, and Ben Lockey earned the event win, while the Diplomats also won the 200 medley relay with a team that featured Nick Lowell, Patrick Rooney, Williams, and Lockey.

Lowell had the best night in individual events for the Diplomats, as he secured victories in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke. Joe Clarkson earned third place in the 100 backstroke. 

Rooney claimed victory in the 200 backstroke, while he finished one spot behind Lowell in the 200 IM to earn second place. Luke Healey completed a sweep of the top three spots in the 200 IM while he also earned silver in the 100 breaststroke.

Lockey and Smolinski earned second place and third place, respectively, in the 50 freestyle. 

Matthew Tilghman and Edward Vonne claimed second and third in the 1000 freestyle, while Vonne also was the third-place finisher in the 500 freestyle. 

Ferris and Williams earned silver and bronze in the 100 butterfly.

Other top-three results for F&M include a second-place finish for Tilghman in the 100 freestyle and a third-place showing for Clarkson in the 200 freestyle.

The Diplomats continue their three-day weekend by visiting No. 22 Salisbury on Saturday, January 17, at 1:00 p.m.
