LANCASTER, Pa. – James Conway has moved up to No. 6 in the latest national individual rankings produced by both InterMat and FloWrestling at 184 lbs. In addition to his ascent in the national rankings, Conway continues to lead all Division I wrestlers with 25 wins, 10 technical falls and 74 takedowns.
Conway's season best ranking comes as the senior captain is 25-1 on the season after his latest win by fall against Binghamton this past weekend. Conway is now a perfect 5-0 in dual meet competition in addition to winning the Southeast Open, Keystone Classic, Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, and David H. Lehman '68 F&M Open. He is a 4-0 against Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) opponents and has now recorded bonus points during 18 of his victories with 10 technical falls, five pins, and three major decisions.
With his rise in the national rankings, the Diplomats are now the 29th-ranked team in FloWrestling's Team Tournament rankings and are 30th in the team tournament rankings produced by InterMat.
Wrestling returns to EIWA dual meet action this weekend as it travels to Sacred Heart on Saturday, January 24. That dual – which is also an Independence Division matchup – is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start in Connecticut.
