GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Running its first 6,000-meter race of the year, the Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team placed 10th out of 46 teams at Gettysburg's Aubrey Shenk Invitational. Tara Silverman was the standout as she placed fourth in the field of 452 runners. The Diplomats' top 10 team finish included multiple victories against fellow regionally-ranked teams as F&M is currently currently ranked eighth in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Silverman was one of nine Diplomats who posted a career best mark on the 6K course as she crossed the line in a time of 21:18.0. Her solid season continues as she continues to accelerate into the postseason. She was joined among the top 100 finishers by teammates Maren Blanks (23:13.8) and Katie Scott (23:18.8) who took the respective 77th and 83rd-place finishes.

The Diplomats had six runners come in under 24 minutes as Jordyn Collie (23:47.1), Emily Jones (23:52.0), and Hana Hyman (23:58.3) broke through that mark. For Jones and Hyman, both of their times represented career bests. Courtney Carlson was just off that pace with a time of 24:03.7 in her first collegiate 6K as the team's seventh finisher.

Eleven Diplomats in total competed on Saturday, with Georgia Hodgson turning in another career best time at 24:22.3 to finish among the top 175 runners. First-years Clara Pallordet (25:04.8), Tegan Altmann (25:48.6), and Layli Katirai (27:03.0) were also strong as they completed their first 6,000-meter race as college runners.

Saturday's race marked the final competition date of the regular season. The Diplomats now turn their attention to the postseason which begins at Haverford on Saturday, October 31 with the Centennial Conference Championship. The women's conference championship race is set for an 11 a.m. start on Haverford's campus.
