LANCASTER, Pa. – For the second consecutive season, the Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team had two runners earn All-Centennial Conference recognition for their finishes at the Centennial Conference Championships. Those Diplomats helped the team to a third-place finish which tied the 1999 squad for the program's highest finish in Centennial Conference history.
Tara Silverman placed third overall in the field to earn first-team All-Centennial Conference honors. She finished with a time of 21:38.4. Her third-place finish made her the 11th first-team All-Centennial Conference runner in program history. She joined Jamie Kendig (first in 1994, second in 1993, and third in 1995), and Sheena Crawley (third in 2012) as the only runners to place in the top three of the individual standings in program history.
Maren Blanks placed 11th with a time of 22:10.7 in her rookie campaign to earn second-team All-Centennial Conference recognition. That time marked a personal best by over one minute from the regular season. She was the second-highest placing first-year at the championship event.
Jordyn Collie was named to the Centennial Conference's All-Sportsmanship Team. A senior, Collie was critical in the team's third place finish with a time 23:46.0. That time made her the final scorer on the team to officially secure the record finish.
Women's cross country has the upcoming weekend away from competition. The Diplomats return to racing on Saturday, November 14 when they compete at Lock Haven in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship. The women's race is set to go off at 11 a.m. that day where qualifiers for the NCAA Division III Championship will be decided.
