LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall football team celebrated both the Centennial Conference's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week after defeating Ursinus 35-17 to hand the Bears their first loss of the 2026 season. Receiver Jack Harrison was named the offensive player of the week, while cornerback Rafe Carner earned the defensive accolades. Both of the honors were the first of the seniors' respective careers.
Jack Harrison became the first Diplomat this season to be named Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week after his career day finished with six catches for a career-high 165 yards and two touchdowns. Harrison averaged 27.5 yards per catch as five of his six receptions went for either a first down or a touchdown. Harrison's biggest play of the day was a 59-yard touchdown reception to put F&M up 21-3 in the final seconds of the third quarter.
Carner broke up five passes to highlight a dominant showing from the secondary. Carner's five passes defended is tied for the second-highest single season total in program history and is the most in the Centennial Conference this season, with the previous high being three. With Carner covering the Bears' leading receiver, he was targeted 12 times in the game but had just three receptions for 18 yards. Carner also made five tackles (four solo), including one tackle for loss. As a team, Ursinus averaged just 4.5 yards per reception. Carner is now the third different Diplomat to be named the conference's defensive player of the week this season.
Football is now 6-1 overall (3-1 CC) after handing a conference foe its first Centennial loss of the season in consecutive weeks. Franklin & Marshall will be on the road this Saturday as the team makes the trip to McDaniel. Kickoff in Westminster, Maryland is slated for 1 p.m.
