CARLISLE, Pa.- The points were shared, as the Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (5-2-2, 2-1-1 Centennial Conference) split a goalless draw at Dickinson (6-1-3, 3-0-1 Centennial Conference) on Saturday afternoon.
Lucy Fleming was tasked with making four stops for her fifth shutout of 2026.
Colleen Ferrarese led the team with three shots, while
Meg Balerna registered a pair of shots.
Across the 90 minutes, each team totaled ten shots, while Dickinson generated four shots on goal against four from the Diplomats.
Chances were hard to come by for both sides in the first half with a combined seven shots in the opening 45 minutes.
Ashley Inacio and
Kyra Magerko forced routine saves for the Dickinson keeper on a couple of long-range shots in the first 15 minutes. F&M's best chance of the half came in the 26th minute when
Meg Balerna's headed attempt from a corner sailed over the top-right corner of the goal. Fleming was forced into her first save on a volley at the near post from six yards away via a cross into the box.
Emily Cook had a shot from the edge of the box miss the bottom-left corner wide in the 36th minute, while Fleming was later forced into a diving save on a shot destined for her bottom-right corner from 30 yards away.
Dickinson had three shots miss the mark in the opening ten minutes of the second half before forcing Fleming into a dive, as she collected a ball heading to the right side netting on a shot from the edge of the box. Ferrarese had a shot blocked in the 61st minute, as a defender closed off her angle on a driving run into the box on an attempt from six yards away. After Balerna was brought down on the edge of the box on a breakaway, Ferrarese's attempt from the right corner of the box landed just above the top-right corner. Fleming made her final save of the game on a near-post effort from ten yards away with ten minutes left. F&M had three shots in the remaining time but was unable to find a clear-cut chance
The Diplomats have taken seven points from their first four Centennial Conference games, putting them level in a tie for fourth place in the standings with their next opponent, McDaniel. They'll face the Green Terror on the road on Wednesday, October 7, at 4:00 p.m.
