PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team (0-2) lost its road match at No. 13 Carnegie Mellon (4-0), 7-0, in Saturday morning's non-conference contest. The Tartans took two of three doubles matches, before winning all six singles matches to secure the team victory.
The pairing of
Sahara Ahmad and
Rebecca Bellick highlighted the day for F&M in the No. 2 match as the duo swept their opponents, 6-0. The tandem of
Sophia Rhazali and
Natalie Untermeyer fought in the No. 1 match, but came up short in a 6-3 loss.
Untermeyer continued to battle in the No. 1 singles match, but couldn't catch her opponent in a 7-5, 6-2 defeat. Ahmad also kept pace with her opponent in the No. 2 match, but was held off in a 6-4, 6-3 loss.
Franklin & Marshall continues on the road, traveling to play TCNJ on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
