LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall women's lacrosse team scored six times during the first quarter of a 13-7 triumph versus Dickinson on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats kept pace with the rest of the Centennial Conference co-leaders thanks to the quick start on their home turf.
On a day when the team received its 2025 Centennial Conference Championship rings, seniors Lauren Pittman, Devyn Crone, and Myranda Beebe all led by example as the team leaders in points. Pittman scored five times, while Crone's two goals and five assists giving her a team-leading seven points. Beebe added a hat trick with three goals and one assist on the day. Goalie Sara DiGiovanni thwarted the Red Devils' attack with 14 saves, while captain Belle Dintino led the team in caused turnovers (4), ground balls (4), and draw controls (4).
Franklin & Marshall's top three scorers each tallied twice during the first quarter as the hosts raced out to a 6-1 lead. The early 3-0 advantage came less than two minutes into the contest. A third 3-0 run in favor of F&M during the second quarter saw goals from Alexandra Proefrock and Sophia Geibel before Pittman capped her hat trick with 8:25 remaining in the opening half.
Leading 10-6 midway through the third period, F&M scored four more goals during the final 15-plus minutes of regulation time. Pittman scored a goal in each period with respective tallies during the third and fourth quarters. Sophie Harris opened the fourth quarter scoring on a pass from Pittman. Beebe's third goal of the day - from Svia Russman-Araya's pass - put the cap on the 13-7 victory.
F&M finished with a 34-25 advantage in total shots. The hosts held a slight 12-10 advantage in draw controls, but limited the visiting Red Devils to just 18-of-26 on their clearing attempts to aid the defensive efforts. Sydney Birchard matched Dintino for the team lead with four ground balls, forcing three additional turnovers. Lucy Rogers, Gretta Harnish, and Geibel all caused multiple turnovers.
With two weeks remaining in the regular season, the Diplomats will be back at home twice this coming week. Up first will be a clash with McDaniel on Wednesday, April 15 as that game will also be the team's Mental Health Awareness Green Out at 4 p.m. Franklin & Marshall will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, April 18 with a 12 p.m. start versus Washington College during the team's Pack the Dip Zone game.
