LEWISBERRY, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's rowing team raced in their final regatta ahead of next week's Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championship in Saturday's Gifford Pinchot Sprint Regatta. F&M entered two Varsity 8+ crews plus a Freshman/Novice 4+ crew into the regatta, with both the women's A 8+ and Freshman/Novice 4+ winning their respective events by open water.
The Diplomats' first Varsity 8+ crew featured, from bow to stern,
Skyler Houghton,
Ruth Donohue,
Kate Smith,
Savanna Maness,
Nancy Nguyen,
Audrey Zawoiski,
Sarah Blum,
Louise Truong, and
Lauren Caltrider as coxswain. The second Varsity 8+ crew included, from bow to stern,
Yvette Wang,
Araya Vastani,
Zoey Zhao,
Maya Beda,
Amy Ni,
Claire Axelrod,
Elizabeth Ripperger,
Hazel Abello, and
Macy Bush as coxswain. F&M's first Varsity 8+ crew won their race in 6:52 against crews from Carnegie Mellon, Binghamton, and Scranton, while the second Varsity 8+ crew claimed fourth place in the race, beating out Scranton.
F&M's Varsity 4+ crew included, from bow to stern,
Autumn Lingle, Ripperger,
Elena Jenkins,
Iman Hasnani, and Bush as coxswain. The crew won their final against crews from Binghamton and Scranton with a time of 9:33.
"The women's team felt great about their performances this weekend, with each crew being able to fine tune their racing against good competition," said Head Coach
Bob Brady. "We're going to carry this momentum forward into next week as we gear up for MARCs."
The Diplomats return to the water on Saturday, May 2, for the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championship from Pennsauken, N.J.
