Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Cruises Past McDaniel, 22-4

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's lacrosse team rolled to a 22-4 victory against visiting McDaniel on Saturday afternoon inside Shadek Stadium. The Diplomats (8-4, 3-1 CC) dominated from the opening whistle as they scored at least seven goals during each of the first three quarters of the Centennial Conference matchup.

Ben Dale set up the attack all afternoon as he recorded 12 points on three goals and nine assists. Dale's assist total was the third-highest single-game total in school history. He was one of three players who finished with a hat trick as Matt Marino had a team-high four goals and one assist. Mason Montrella registered seven points on three goals and four helpers. Liam Timmins and Carter Connors each added two goals as the Diplomats finished with a 66-29 advantage in shots for the third-highest single-game total in the program's history.

Franklin & Marshall left no doubt as the Diplomats were leading 15-2 at the break. Part of that run included Alex Fraser scoring his first career goal on a feed from Dale in transition. Hayes Card added his name to the scoresheet just before the half as 13 different players scored throughout the victory.

Jackson Barnhill, Preston Blue, Colin Song, Jack Luviano, Dylan Reese, Matthew Giller, and Hayes Card all added their names to the list of scorers during a 7-2 third quarter advantage in favor of F&M. Franklin & Marshall was 2-for-2 in man-up chances in that quarter to finish a very efficient 3-for-4 during the game on the man advantage.

Teddy Scarborough was strong in goal as he stopped 10 of the 14 shots that he faced in 37-plus minutes of work. Max Russell went untested during his nine minutes in goal before William Shaw made one save to close out the victory. F&M won 22 of the 28 faceoffs and doubled up the Green Terror in ground balls (36-18). Luca Hoffman tied for the team lead with four ground balls after going 6-for-7 at the X. Owen Hire and George Hardy matched his ground ball total.

Men's lacrosse will return to the road for its next Centennial Conference game as the Diplomats will square off with Muhlenberg on Saturday, April 11. That game in Allentown is slated for a 12 p.m. start.
