High School: Ranked as the No. 24 shortstop in Iowa by Perfect Game … Honorable mention preseason all-region and all-America by Perfect Game … Played in the Pacific Coast Collegiate League where he led the Avos to the league championship … Batted .448 with 21 RBI and 14 runs scored during 27 games in the summer … Had a .998 field percentage between shortstop and second base … Also made three starts on the mound, going a perfect 3-0 with three complete games while posting a 1.72 ERA and striking out 22 batters over 19 innings.
