Sarah Schannauer ’18 returned to her alma mater as an assistant coach in 2022. Throughout her playing career, Schannauer was a standout player for the Diplomats and led the team to a 69-16 overall record. That success included four trips to the NCAA Tournament, highlighted by a Centennial Conference Championship and Final Four appearance during her senior season when she served as a team captain.

Earning numerous individual accolades in addition to the team’s success, Schannauer was a two-time All-Centennial Conference selection. She went on to earn second-team NFHCA All-South Region accolades as she helped the Diplomats to that Final Four appearance in 2017. Schannauer still holds the school record for defensive saves in a career (17) and was additionally named to both the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and the NFHCA Academic Squad during her time with the Diplomats.

Schannauer currently resides in Lancaster and is a Hospital Medicine Physician Assistant at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health.
