Kate McDonald joined the Franklin & Marshall women’s basketball program as an assistant coach in June 2018. Before F&M, McDonald spent four seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Juniata College.
In 2017-18, she helped lead the Eagles to a 23-6 overall record, a spot in the Landmark Championship game, and an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. During her time at Juniata, McDonald also served as a strength and conditioning intern and assisted the college as a residential director.
A two-year captain and four-year starter at forward for the Eagles, McDonald ended her playing career with 1,452 points, 1,095 rebounds, 296 steals, and 94 blocked shots. She was a three-time All-Landmark First Team Selection, a Second Team selection, a Landmark Rookie of the Year, and a Landmark Defensive Player of the Year. McDonald was also honored with the college's Charles Bargerstock Award for greatest contribution to athletics by a graduating female and was a three-time member of the Landmark Academic Honor Roll.
McDonald graduated from Juniata in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, with a secondary emphasis in Communication.
