Josh Schofield enters his eighth season as head coach of the Franklin & Marshall College men's and women's tennis teams in the 2024-25 academic year.

Schofield has continued the excellent tradition of F&M's tennis programs on the men's and women's sides. He was named the Centennial Conference's Men's Coach of the Year after leading the Diplomats to a second-place finish in the Centennial Conference standings following the 2021 season. In addition to coaching two-time Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year Sam Bellersen '21, Schofield guided six players (four men's, two women's players) to All-Centennial Conference recognition that season and another six (three men, three women) in 2022. Both programs have qualified to the Centennial Conference Tournament during each of his seasons in which the conference tournament has been held.

Before his hiring, Schofield served two seasons as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Division I La Salle following an 11-year stint at Swarthmore, where he served as the assistant men's tennis coach (2003-06, 2008-11), acting head men's tennis coach (2011-12) and associate head men's tennis coach (2012-15). He also spent one season as the assistant men's tennis coach at Penn.

During his time at Swarthmore, the Garnet reached the NCAA Tournament three times, advancing to the Round of 16 in 2004 and 2005, as well as the Quarterfinals in 2006. In his last three seasons as associate head coach, Schofield helped Swarthmore compile a 22-5 record in Centennial Conference (CC) matches, advancing to the CC Championship match in two of those years.

Schofield brought to Lancaster a wealth of playing experience as well, having won several tennis titles, including the USTA 30s National Grass Singles Championship. He represented the United States at the International Tennis Federation Young Seniors World Team Championships in Turkey and is currently a member of the USTA Men's 35 National Team.

A 2001 graduate of Villanova with a Bachelor's Degree in History and Russian Area Studies, Schofield earned Big East Academic All-Star recognition twice as a member of the men’s tennis team. He later earned Master's Degrees from Florida State (Russian and Eastern European Studies ’03) and Temple (Sport and Recreation Management ’06).
