Keil & Eisenhauer Score as Diplomats Overpower York College 2-1 in Men's Soccer

LANCASTER, PA -- Jason Keil (Fr., Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) netted an unassisted goal and Wallace Eisenhauer (Sr., New Castle, DE/Wilmington Christian) headed in a cross from Brandon Corday (Fr., Morton Grove, IL/Niles Township) for the eventual game-winning goal as the Franklin & Marshall College men's soccer team overpowered York College of Pennsylvania 2-1 in non-conference action.

York, tied for #3 in the South Region in the October 5 National Soccer Coaches Association rankings, took the lead at 16:08 as Drew Dutrow broke away from his defender at midfield and raced in one-on-one with F&M goalie Ed Stelz (So., Kew Gardens, NY/Loomis Chaffee). Turning towards the right side of the goalmouth, Dutrow rolled a shot across the goalmouth and past a diving Stelz as the shot hit the left post and deflected across the goal line for a 1-0 York lead.

The Diplomats countered 13 minutes later as Keil collected a deflection off of a throw-in and ripped a shot past York goalie Michael Cook to knot the game at 1-1 with 5:33 remaining in the first half.

Neither team would score until the 58:12 mark of the game as Corday lofted a cross to Eisenhauer who headed the ball underneath the cross bar for a 2-1 Franklin & Marshall victory.

The Spartans had a chance to tie the game with over 20 minutes left on the clock courtesy a penalty shot, but Stelz dove to his right and collected the scoring attempt to preserve the win as Franklin & Marshall improved to 5-0 at home on the season.

In goal, Stelz made six saves on seven York shots, while Cook stopped five of F&M's seven shots on goal.

Franklin & Marshall College (5-3-1, 2-2 CC) will continue the season at Gettysburg College on October 8 at 7:00 p.m. Due to construction delays with the Bullets' new stadium, the game's date and time could be changed to either October 9 or 10 during the afternoon.
