COLLEGEVILLE, PA - Ben Wilson (Sr., Lititz, PA/Lititz Christian) scored twice to lead the Franklin & Marshall College men's soccer team to a 3-0 win at Ursinus College in Centennial Conference action.

The win improves Franklin & Marshall to 5-4-3, 3-3 in the Centennial Conference, while Ursinus College falls to 2-10, 0-5 in the Centennial Conference.

The Diplomats jumped on the scoreboard three minutes into the game as Wilson beat Ursinus goalie Brian Berkowitz with a shot for the game-winning goal. Franklin & Marshall added to the lead nearly 16 minutes later as Ryan McGonigle (So., Chadds Ford, PA/Unionville) fired in a shot for a 2-0 lead prior to the break.

Wilson tacked on an insurance goal in the second half at the 58:20 mark for the 3-0 final as Franklin & Marshall improves to 47-17-6 all-time against Ursinus since the programs first meeting in 1933.

Historically, F&M has an eight game winning streak against Ursinus as the Bears last defeated the Diplomats by a 1-0 final on September 21, 1996.

In goal, Ed Stelz (Jr., Kew Gardens, NY/Loomis Chaffee) made six saves to earn the win and record his third solo shutout of the season, while Berkowitz took the loss by allowing three goals in 73:12.

Franklin & Marshall (5-4-3, 3-3 CC) will continue the season on October 19 at Rutgers University-Camden in non-conference action. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
