The win marked JHU head coach Matt Smith's 200th career victory at Johns Hopkins, as he is now 200-39-16 in 13 seasons with the Blue Jays.

Courtesy the win and a Gettysburg loss versus Dickinson College, the Blue Jays clinched the #4 seed in the Centennial Conference playoffs and will host #5 seed Gettysburg on November 2 at a time to be determined.

Franklin & Marshall (8-5-3, 5-4 CC) tied with Gettysburg and Dickinson College for the fifth seed in the playoffs with 15 points, but Gettysburg earned the berth based on CC playoff guidelines as the Bullets tied #1 seed McDaniel 0-0 OT, while both F&M and Dickinson lost to the Green Terror.
