Walters Named to February 1 Centennial Conference Women's Swimming Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Jenna Walters (So., Hershey, PA/Hershey) has been named to the February 1 Centennial Conference Women's Swimming Honor Roll.

The honor marks the second time Walters has been recognized by the Centennial Conference as she was previously named to the November 23 honor roll.

In a 3-0 week for the Diplomats, she led the team to wins over Dickinson (127-77 W), Ursinus (106-81 W) and Carnegie Mellon (115-90 W) to improve to 8-1 on the year, 6-0 in Centennial Conference competition.

On January 27 at Dickinson, she touched the wall first in the 200 free (1:59.25) before taking the 500 free (5:20.90). She followed it up by taking the 100 back (1:07.13) on January 28 at Ursinus before winning the 200 free (1:59.17) and the 500 free (5:19.94) at home in the Kunkel Aquatic Center versus Carnegie Mellon on January 29.

This season, she holds the best time in the Centennial Conference in the 200 free (1:59.17), 500 free (5:18.12) and 1000 free (10:59.74).

Historically, with Diplomats win against Carnegie Mellon, Franklin & Marshall improved to 19-2 in its last 21 dual meets as the Diplomats only losses have come against Johns Hopkins University (111-89 on January 30, 2004 at JHU and 151-111 on October 30, 2004 in Lancaster).

The run marks the best two-year record by a Franklin & Marshall College women's swimming team erasing the previous mark of 19-6 held by the 2003 (8-5) and 2004 (11-1) Diplomats based on winning percentage (90.5 to 76.0).

Franklin & Marshall (8-1, 6-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on February 5 at home versus Gettysburg College in the Centennial Conference and regular season finale. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
