Dips battle to 1-1 tie;

Box Score

Sept. 27, 2006

LANCASTER - One hundred and ten minutes of soccer didn't settle anything Wednesday afternoon at Franklin & Marshall, as the Diplomats and Muhlenberg battled to a 1-1 stalemate.

Dan Wagner's squad is now 6-1-1; the tie broke their six game winning streak.

The Diplomats got on the board first in the 52nd minute when leading scorer Brandon Corday took an arching pass from Jose Cabella and beat the keeper near post.

Unfortunately for F&M, Chris Campbell was red carded in the 61st minute and the Dips had to play the rest of the match a man short.

The Mules took advantage in the 70th minute when Adison Weseloh got a pass from Samuel Hayden after an F&M turnover and drilled one home in the top right corner.

From that point forward, both keepers came up big - Ed Steltz for the Dips and Peter Bennett for Muhlenberg. Steltz finished with eight saves, while Bennett posted seven.
