LANCASTER, Pa. - Host Franklin & Marshall College scored five runs in the second inning and four more in the fourth en route to a 13-2 win over visiting Washington College in a Centennial Conference baseball game today in Lancaster, PA. The Diplomats improved to 14-8 overall and 8-1 in conference play with its eighth consecutive win, while the Shoremen fell to 9-12 and 3-6 with the loss.

Gordon Pellegrini went 4-for-5 at the plate with a triple, two runs scored, and two RBI for the Diplomats. Combined with his 5-for-5 effort on Saturday, Pellegrini came up with nine consecutive hits. The NCAA record remains safe at 16. Mark Minutaglio was 2-for-4 with a double, four RBI, and two runs scored. Tom Miller went 3-for-3 scoring twice, while Rich Gallugi went 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Brad Andres got the win for F&M, allowing no runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five batters in eight innings of work.

Sophomores Jim Bannar and Tony Tozzolo finished with two hits each for the Shoremen. Bannar drove in Tozzolo with an RBI single in the ninth inning.

Franklin & Marshall returns to action on Friday at Washington.
