LANCASTER, Pa. - Chris Brower allowed just one hit over nine innings to lead York to a 4-0 win over Franklin & Marshall at Caplan Field Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans' (23-4) senior right -hander struck out 11 Diplomats (19-12) without issuing a single walk to improve to 7-1 on the season. Rich Gallugi's single to leadoff the second inning foiled Brower's no hit bid.

Matt Metsch (E. Brunswick, NJ / E. Brunswick) worked seven strong innings for Franklin & Marshall. He allowed three runs, two earned, with four strikeouts and a walk, falling to 5-3 on the year.

York scored the game's first run in the second inning, cashing in on Mike Connolly's leadoff single. First baseman Anthony Anzalone plated the game winning run with his only hit of the afternoon. Connolly was one of three Spartans to hit safely twice. Jeff Young and Ryan Craig each went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Franklin & Marshall closes out the Centennial Conference portion of its 2007 slate with a twinbill at McDaniel on Saturday. The Diplomats wrap up the regular season on Sunday against Millersville at Clipper Magazine Stadium, and then set their sights on the Centennial Conference Championships.
