LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's women's swim team
propelled seven swimmers into tonight's championship finals at
McGinness Pool. 12 swimmers will appear in the consolation finals.
Brittany McCabe will be the Diplomats lone finalist in the
100-yard backstroke. The All-American in the event swam an NCAA
B-Cut time of 57.88, the top qualifying mark for the event. The
Diplomats will field two finalists in the 100-yard breaststroke.
First-years Katherine DeCrosta and Samantha Sweeney each qualified
for a shot at gold with a DeCrosta posting a 1:09.91 and Sweeney
swimming a 1:10.40.
The Diplomats will also race three swimmers in the 400-yard
Individual Medley championship finals. Laura Bassford clocked the
top F&M-qualifying mark with a 4:49.97. Claire Mansbach logged
a 4:51.31 to advance while Emily Zacherl posted a 4:53.60. Anne
Bollinger, Brittany Gray and Lauren Seigel will all compete in the
consolation final of the same event.
