Mules Shutout Diplomats

LANCASTER, Pa. - Muhlenberg defeated Franklin & Marshall 4-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Tylus Field. The Mules'  (4-2) Eric Miller and Tom Reilly tag teamed for two of the goals. The Diplomats four game winning streak came to an end as they dropped to 4-2 on the year.

Miller's goal came in the third minute when he took a Reilly's pass that spilt the defense finding the bottom right of the net.  The tandem struck again, reversing roles, as Miller found Reilly for the one-timer in the 56th minute.

The Mules struck again when Cody Antonini knocked home a Adison Weseloh pass in the 63rd minute. Two minutes later, Weseloh put the Mules up 4-0 when he took a shot just beyond the 18-yard mark that found the top left corner of the net in the 65th minute.

The Diplomats managed eight shots on goals in the contest. The Mules got off 10 and picked up three corners to F&M's two.

Jason Daniels picks up the win for the Mules, improving to 4-2 on the year. Daniels stopped two shots. F&M's Zach Zamek collected four saves in absorbing the loss. Zamek falls to 4-2.

Franklin & Marshall returns to action September 23rd when they travel Cabrini.
