LANCASTER, Pa. - Hamilton College's women's squash team remained
perfect on the season, handing Franklin & Marsahll a 6-3 loss
at Mayser Center Thursday. The Continentals improved to 6-0, while
F&M fell to 2-4.
The Diplomats got wins at No. 1, No. 6 and No. 7, as well as in
the exhibition match. Morgan Smith (3-3) needed four games to
defeat Kelly Whipple at No. 1. Smith and Whipple traded the first
two games before the Diplomat posted 11-6 wins in the third and
fourth. The win extended Smith's winning streak to three
matches.
No. 6 Chelsea Ross (3-3) and No. 7 Courtney Mulligan (3-3) also
ran their personal streaks to three matches. Ross swept Anne
Edelstein 11-9, 11-1, 11-7. Mulligan dropped the second game 10-12
in her 3-1 win over Nina Platt (11-6, 10-12, 11-4, 11-8).
Gabby Robinson improved to 2-2 in the exhibition match. The
14-12, 11-7, 11-3 win over Alyssa Kasanoff was her second in as
many matches.
The Diplomats will return to action tomorrow night against
Connecticut College.
