WEST CHESTER, Pa. – For the second week
in a row the women's 4 x 400-meter relay team has broken and set a
new school record, while also claiming top honors in the event. The
squad set a time of 4:02.96 just one week ago, and continued to
reset the time to 3:57.67 at the West Chester Invitational on
Saturday.
The 4 x 100-meter relay team ran a time of 52.73 to place
fourth. Sheena Crawley and Caitlin Regan took home third and fourth
in the 400-meter dash. Crawley crossed the line in 1:01.18 and
Regan in 1:02.40.
Crawley took home first in the 1,500-meter run with a time of
4:50.14. In the 10,000-meter run, Alex Teevens finished in 41:55.57
for a first-place finish. Kelly Farrelly finished in a very close
second in 41:58.64.
Megan Hunter won the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:15.90. In the
3,000-meter steeplechase, Lauren Denver finished second in
13:24.60.
The sprints continued Diplomat success throughout the day.
Siegrist took home first in the 200-meter dash in 26.35. Siegrist
placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.06, just .02
seconds behind first place-finishing April Stewart from Bryn
Mawr.
Katie Allison finished first in the pole vault, clearing a
distance of 2.90 meters. Sylvia Zohrabian came in second with the
same clearance. In the long jump, Kristen Marinaccio leaped a
distance of 4.85 meters to place fifth.
Claiming top honors in the javelin, Arielle VanWingerden threw
for a distance of 38.13 meters.
The Diplomats host the F&M Open on Saturday, April 17.
