POMONA, N.J. – The women's
4x400-meter relay team broke the Franklin & Marshall record by
almost eight seconds. All told, the track and field team picked up
13 top-five finishes, when the 2010 Osprey Open came to a close on
Saturday. The 4x400 squad, made up of Henley Siegrist, Caitlin
Regan, Sheena Crawley, and Megan Hunter, crossed the line in
4:02.96 at Richard Stockton, shattering the previous record, set
back in 2000.
Hunter claimed top honors in the 400-meter dash with a time of
58.40 seconds. Siegrist came in third in 1:00.31. In the 200-meter
dash Siegrist and Hunter finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Siegrist finished in 26.64 and Hunter came in at 26.78.
Crawley earned first place in the 800-meter run, clocking in at
2:16.19. Regan followed in eighth with a time of 2:34.86. Topping
off Diplomat first place finishes, Alexis Teevens finished the
5,000-meter run in 19:42.29 for the win.
In the field, Sylvia Zohrabian cleared a pole vault distance of
2.75 meters for second place. Martha Stefaniak took home three
top-five finishes in throwing events. She earned fifth in the shot
put with a distance of 9.89 meters. Stefaniak claimed fourth in the
discus with a throw of 33.75 meters and third place in the hammer
throw, clearing 31.96 meters.
Arielle Van Wingerden finished second in the javelin, launching
for 34.36 meters.
The Diplomats travel to West Chester on Saturday, Apr. 10.
