Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.— Eileen O'Reilly has scored a goal in
every game this season. Saturday's contest against St.
Lawrence was not any different as the senior forward scored two
goals enroute to a 3-1 Franklin & Marshall victory. The
#17 Diplomats remain unbeaten on the year with a 5-0 record.
Just 36 seconds into the contest, O'Reilly posted her
first tally of the afternoon, taking a cross from
Allison McLaren.
In the ninth minute, the tandem hooked up for a second goal, this
time McLaren took a shot that Saints' goalie Maureen McCoy
appeared to have lined up, but O'Reilly tipped the ball at
the last second, redirecting it into the cage for her seven goal of
the season.
27 seconds later, SLU (2-2) sent backup goalie Nicole Matos
into the match. She stopped the first two shots she faced, but
Becky Willert's blast from the top of the circle snuck by to
give F&M a 3-0 lead with 20 minutes remaining in the first
half.
The Saints scored the only goal of the final 35. Brooke
Maloney found Emma Meyer in front of the cage for the Meyer's
first goal of the season.
The Diplomats, who finished with a 14-1 advantage in shots on
goal in the first half, continued to pile on the chances behind
five penalty corners.
Sarah Dileo earned the win with four saves. Dileo is 5-0 this
season.
The Diplomats will face #19 William Smith tomorrow at 3
p.m.
