NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Franklin & Marshall completed a perfect weekend of competition with 9-0 wins over Wesleyan (Conn.) and Wellesley on Sunday at the Pioneer Valley Invitational. The No. 17 Diplomats improve to 8-7 with the pair of victories and cap off a stellar two days as they blanked each of their five opponents on the weekend.
After sweeping through a trio of squads on Saturday without losing a single game, F&M dropped just three games in the shutout against No. 20 Wesleyan, before steamrolling No. 26 Wellesley with three-game victories in each of the nine matchups.
Roxanna Mead, Halley Cruice, Chelsea Ross, Erin Golueke, Katherine Perry, Krista Lancione and Elizabeth Gatling each posted two wins on the day for F&M.
Morgan Smith (No. 1) and Gabby Robinson (No. 9) were triumphant in straight games against Wesleyan in their lone matches of the day, while Tanya Arora and Stephanie Tzarnas stepped into the lineup against Wellesley and claimed victories at the No. 8 and No. 9 spots, respectively.
The Diplomats return to the court on Friday, Feb. 3 at Cornell at 6:00 pm
