BALTIMORE, Md. – Franklin & Marshall's women's swimming team was dropped by Johns Hopkins 203-59 on Saturday to open the 2012-13 season.  The Diplomats secured one win in 14 events to open up its season.  F&M's record stands at 0-1 in the early going, while the Blue Jays improve to 2-0.

Johns Hopkins took the early lead on the day, winning the 200-yard medley in the opening event to earn 11 points.  The Diplomats quickly brought the score to within two when Katherine Grant won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10.51.12 to earn nine points for her squad.

The Blue Jays took control of the meet after the 200-yard freestyle, going on win the last 12 events of the day. 

Krista Hollingsworth nearly won the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in second with a time of 1:59.57, just two second behind Alex Ladd of Johns Hopkins.

Rebecca Citti had a strong showing in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in fourth with a time of 1:15.14. 

In the 500-yard freestyle, Grant nearly took her second event of the day before having to settle for a second-place finish with a time of 5:13.82.  Sarah Rinsma of Johns Hopkins touched the wall a mere .06 seconds ahead of Grant.

Maggie Johns had her best showing of the day in the 400-yard individual medley, finishing third with a time of 4:56.60.

F&M returns to the pool Saturday to face off against Bryn Mawr in CC action.  The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
