CHESTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's women's swimming team defeated Widener University on Friday night 119-86 in non-conference action. The Diplomat's earned seven wins in 11 events to even their record at 2-2 on the season.
Krista Hollingsworth and Katherine Grant picked up two individual wins apiece on the evening. Hollingsworth touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.94 before taking first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.98.
Grant earned her first win in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:51.15, finishing just ahead of teammate Maggie Johns, who placed second with a time of 10:55.61. Grant's other victory came in the 500-yard freestyle, as she finished ahead of the pack with a time of 5:17.83.
In the final race of the night, Hollingsworth and Grant again led F&M to victory by placing first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:46.16. Filling out the team was Johns and Courtney Collins.
Also winning events for the Diplomats was Jackie Behr in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.17 and Rebecca Citti in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:13.44.
F&M returns to the pool tomorrow when it hosts Washington College in Centennial Conference (CC) action. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
