HANOVER, N.H. - No. 7 Franklin & Marshall defeated No. 10 St. Lawrence 6-3 in men's squash action on Saturday at Dartmouth. The Diplomats improve to 3-2 with the victory, while the Saints drop to 3-2.
F&M received wins at the top four spots in the lineup and at No. 6 and No. 9 to earn the 6-3 triumph. Mauricio Sedano (No. 2), Antonio De La Torre (No. 6), and Pat Cunningham (No. 9) each rolled to straight-game wins for the Diplomats. Sedano topped Kyle Ogilvy 11-8, 11-9, 11-9, De La Torre defeated Anderson Good 11-9, 11-6, 11-2, and Cunningham took down Ness Billimoria 11-9, 11-9, 11-8.
No. 1 Guilherme de Melo, No. 3 Ryan Mullaney and No. 4 Pedro Veiga de Almeida also posted wins for F&M, each coming out on top in four games after dropping the second frame. de Melo topped Ibrahim Khan 11-1, 7-11, 11-4, 11-8, Mullaney recorded a 13-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-6 triumph over Sebastian Riedelsheimer, and de Almeida turned back Vir Seth 11-6, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7.
F&M is back in action tomorrow against Dartmouth at 11:00 a.m.
