CARLISLE, Pa. - Sheena Crawley and Caitlin Regan each secured first place in two events to lead the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team at the Little Three Meet on Saturday. The Diplomats totaled 127 points to nab second out of the three competing teams. Dickinson won the team title with 175 points, while Gettysburg (104) placed third.
Crawley earned top honors in both the 800 and 1500 meters, while Regan took gold in the 200 and 400 meters. In the 1500, Crawley narrowly edged out Dickinson's Emily Miller with a time of 4:59.47, besting Miller by less than a second. She won the 800 with a time of 2:25.05. Regan captured the 400 with a mark of 1:01.15, and later ran to victory in the 200 at 27.41.
Samantha Walmer and Arielle Van Wingerden also posted an individual event victories for F&M. Walmer crossed the line in 17:41 in the 100 meter hurdles, while Van Wingerden secured a top placing in the javelin throw with a toss of 34:16 meters, beating her next closest competitor by nearly eight meters.
The 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relay teams also garnered first-place finishes, while several other Diplomats put together top-three placings. Geena Chang placed second in the high jump (1.49m), Walmer took second in the 400 meter hurdles (1:11.62), Martha Stefaniak grabbed second in the shot put (10.15m) and Sylvia Zohrabian finished second in the pole vault (2.45m). Stefaniak also secured a third-place finish in the discus throw, while Livia Meneghin placed third in the shot put.
Alexandra Hawkins finished second in the 100 meters with a mark of 13.75, and also took third in the 200 at 29.36.
The Diplomats return to action on Friday at the Army Dick Shea Open.
