CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Franklin & Marshall beat Washington 118-81 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) women's swimming action. The victory improved the Diplomats' record to 3-1, 3-0 CC, while the Shorewomen fell to 2-2, 1-2 CC.
Jillian Albus touched the wall first in two events on the day including the 50-yard freestyle (25.19) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.90). Charlotte Katter (26.81) finished third for the Diplomats in the 50-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.15.
In the 1000-yard freestyle, senior Alexia Tomlinson touched first with a time of 11:01.10, while her teammate, Mary Ann Robison, followed her to finish second at 11:33.91. In the next women's event, the 200-yard freestyle, Daen secured a first-place finish at 1:59.92 while Katie Grant (2:00.63) and Leeza Rojas (2:02.13) finished second and third respectively. Grant went on to win the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.17, while Rojas finished in second place with a time of 5:31.71.
Maggie Johns placed first in the 200-yard butterfly at 2:17.66 and Tomlinson (2:21.24) followed in second place. Johns also finished seconds behind winner Ellen Maxwell in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:20.19. Sophomore Taylor Mateja (2:18.71) was barely edged by Washington's Ellen Maxwell in the 200-yard backstroke.
The Diplomats finished the day with seven first-place finishes en route to the victory, including the first event of the day where a team of

Caitlyn Fuller, Albus and Daen won the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:11.16.
