NEWARK, Del. – Sheena Crawley raced to a school-record time in the 1500 meters and Rebecca Swisher matched her school record in the pole vault to highlight a busy day of competition for the Franklin & Marshall women's track and field team at the Delaware Open and Bucknell Outdoor Classic on Saturday. There was no team scoring in either event.
Crawley topped her own school mark in the 1500 at Bucknell, crossing the line in 4:27.12 to best her mark of 4:27.98 that she set in 2012.
Swisher, who reset her own school mark in the pole vault at last week's Millersville Metrics, matched her career best with a vault of 11'-07.75" to claim first in the event at Delaware.
Arielle Van Wingerden grabbed second in the javelin at Delaware with a throw of 117'-03", while Samantha Walmer took fifth in the 100 hurdles at 16.03.
In the field events, Livia Meneghin placed fourth in the shot put (38'-09.75") and eighth in the discus (101'-01"), while Martha Stefaniak did the reverse with a fourth-place mark in the discus (113'-00") and eighth-place finish in the shot put (34'-02.25").
Morgan Gray secured sixth in the triple jump at 33'-08.50".
Olivia Bendit finished 18th in the 100 meters (13.43) and 21st in the 200 (27.13), while Alexandra Hawkins took 19th in the 100 meters (13.44) and Kristen Marinaccio nabbed 19th in the 200 (27.01).
Multiple Diplomats will be in action tomorrow at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic, while the full squad will compete at the Moravian Open next Saturday.
