Crawley Captures Gold in 800

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sheena Crawley secured first place in the 800 meters to lead the Franklin & Marshall women's track & field team at the Moravian Greyhound Invitational on Saturday. There was no team scoring in the event.

Crawley ran past the field of 64 runners in the 800, a group that featured multiple Divison I and II runners. The F&M senior crossed the finish line in a time of 2:10.75 to defeat the next-closest finisher, Monmouth's Amanda Eller, by over five seconds.

Rebecca Swisher delivered the other top-five finish of the day for the Diplomats, taking fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 11'-01.75".

Livia Meneghin grabbed sixth in the shot put at 37'-05.25", while Martha Stefaniak placed 10th at 34'-6.75". Stefaniak also finished 10th in the discus with a throw of 115'-04".

Arielle Van Wingerden also registered a top-10 placing, capturing sixth in the javelin with a mark of 125'-03".

Kristen Marinaccio claimed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 16'-02.25".

F&M returns to action next Saturday for its final tune up prior to the Centennial Conference (CC) meet at Shippensburg's Paul Kaiser Classic.
